-Philippians 4:7
That moment when all of your frustration comes raging out of the bottom of your soul. A single word penetrates your heart, your soul, your days and your nights.
"Why?"
"Why did this happen?" "I do not understand". Often time and distance will reveal an answer. Sometimes we will find that what we struggled with then was a blessing later in life as the path that God set out before us was beyond our understanding at the time. Whether your heart was broken, your life was interrupted, the loss of someone in your life or a wrong done, nothing eases the pain in the moment. Time may heal what is broken. As it is said, the wheels of justice do grind, but they grind slowly.
All this may hold truth, but doesn't erase the heartbreak and the questions, those deep frightening questions.
Peace in your heart begins with a humble admission. We are only human. We live in a human world filled with all of its imperfections. There will be those from the Left and from the Right who will tell you this or that, offering their own perceptions of what is true, what is real and what is right. But it is God who will call your heart in that humble moment when you accept that you are only human. Faith begins in that moment. Faith is not logical. Faith is understanding that you will not understand. God's Grace knows that we are human, that we will fail, that we will not understand.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
